A Boholano designer who founded the Fashion Institute of the Philippines received the Hewlett Packard’s Best Original Filipino Designer award at the recent Philippine Fashion Week ‘07. Shannon Pamaong has proven his worth as a world-class designer.

Pamaong, who bested other 120 designers participated ion Fashion Week presenting over a thousand creations, received a cash prize of P30,000 during the Premier Collection C show. What school has produced the most number of beauty queens?

Is there a beauty queen who’s running this coming May elections?

These questions were raised by True readers last week and these generated a debate among pageant aficionados. Why these people are talking about beauty pageants? Simply because ‘tis a season of beauty pageant…sooner or later we’ll learn the new breed of beauty queens in the province (hopefully no longer “recycled” beauties).

I wrote a story about beauty queens (the Bohol Sandugo winners) a year ago (which can be accessed at www.bohol.ph). As of this writing, I asked the help of Raul Gatal, personality guru, seasoned host and “beauty expert” and Fiel Angelie Araoarao-Gabin, who is also a beauty queen and a favorite judge of beauty pageants to locate and update the roaster of beauty queens in the province.

Drum roll, please….
