Regular flights connect the Philippines with most Asian mainports.
From Singapore, it is three and half hours. The flight goes over Borneo and the Sulu archipel in the Southern Philippines, which is a beautiful view from the air.
Daily or weekly flights to Manila are available from major European capitals. Direct flights are available, but many flights will have one stop-over, either in the Middle East, or in Singapore, Taiwan or Hongkong. Bargain rates for up-and-down tickets start at about €500. Don't expect to get one way tickets any cheaper than that (you won't be allowed into the country without a ticket out anyway). A direct flight will take about 13 hours. If you have a stop-over, it can take up to 24 hours to reach your destination.
If you want to avoid the hassle and annoyances of flying via Manila, you can fly directly to Cebu or Davao via Singapore, Hongkong, and Kuala Lumpur. Prices on this route are slightly higher, but if want to go to the South, it can often save you two days of staying in Manila and catching a connecting inland flight.
