Fried Prawns

225 grams Shelled Prawn with tail intact
1 small Egg
1/2 teaspoon Salt
3 tablespoons Flour
2 tablespoons Water
600 ml Oil
For Dip:
Freshly ground black pepper or crushed sesame


  1. To make the batter, first beat the egg then fold in the salt, flour and water. Beat for 1 minute to incorporate some air.
  2. Heat the oil in a deep fryer until really hot, dip each prawn in the batter then deep fry individually for 2 minutes or until golden. Remove and drain on kitchen paper. Serve with salt and pepper or crushed sesame seeds as dip.
