The municipality of Candijay is located in the eastern part of Bohol, approximately 97 kilometers away from Tagbilaran city. The name of the town is said to have been derived from Kang Dihay, which means "belonging to Dihay", a strong man with many followers. In time, the name was changed to Candijay. The town was organized during the Spanish regime and was then one of the 34 towns in the province in 1879. It had a population of 5,030.

The tourist destination of Candijay, Bohol: Canawa cold spring, Can-umantad watefalls and the beautiful rice terraces.

How to get there: You can probably take the bus from Dao integrated bus terminal (Adjacent to Island city mall) heading to Mabini. Just ask the driver to drop you in the center of Candijay. From there, you can take a habal habal to the rice terraces and waterfalls.

The Can-umantad watefalls is situated below the beautiful rice terraces. Please take note that the way to the waterfalls is quite steep. You can just walk or hire a habal habal, 1 passenger per habal habal for safety reason.
