Skipper Joseph Valeroso, the operator of the banca Lores is a former whale hunter. He was one of the crew of Lores when it was intercepted by the police in March 1999 in Talisay, Cebu put behind bars for 5 days and was fined P 5,000.00. He joined the Pamilacan Island whale and dolphin watching program in January 2000.
