A flowering buli or buri palm (Corypha elata Roxb.). These trees, which can be really huge, only flower once in their life, after which they produce a large number of small round fruits, and die. The trunk, that is before they die, is a source of palm flour, used in such traditional delicacies as binignit. The leaves can be up to five meters long. From this tree, three types of fibers are obtained: buri, raffia, and buntal. These are turned in a whole range of products, such as fans, hats, baskets, shoes, etc.
