I visited Mag-aso falls a couple of years ago. Even though it is possible to cross from side to side, care must be taken as the rocks are slippery - I watched a tourist slip over into the water, with his Nikon DSLR round his neck!

I had a great vacation in the province of bohol island. it was my first time to visit the place.. my hubby and his family live in the town of Candijay which has a various beautiful tourist spot. my hubby and I together with his bro. went to Can-Umantad falls located in brgy. cadapdapan. we had to walk through the 'snake road' about one kilometer from the road side to reach the falls. it has an awful scenery. a God's gift for nature lovers. this falls is worth to visit.. I would love to see it again on my next vacation :)

I am from the town Candijay and we have a huge waterfall named "Kan-umantad" located in barangay Cadapdapan. So, for those nature lovers as well as adventurers this place is worth discovering.

I am from Cebu and I plan to visit Bohol probably last week of December 2009. Would the weather be ideal for touring Bohol? Please let me know coz I wouldn't like the bad weather to ruin our trip, therefore we could just re-schedule it on summer. I will be with my sister and cousins and we are excited to see the tarsier, go swimming in one of the waterfalls there, go dolphin-watching and explore one of the caves there. We will be staying there for 3 days the most. I would appreciate your sensible response. Thanks!

Since Lyn is from San Isidro, I know some nice places in the area, many not developed. When you climb up Tanawan Hill from Lyn's place, you have a terrific view over Bohol and Cebu. Love to watch the sunset from here.--Jeroen.

Adjacent to the busay falls lies the "loctob spring". in the 80's i remember it still had a waterfalls, w/c i believed was ruined by some abusive people around. but though the waters there remain to be as cold as ice, such a refreshing and soothing place to be - perfect for hot summer as we're having at present. in here you could even place your softdrinks underwaters to make it even colder. hope this could be renovated so as to regain its natural beauty as before and be promoted as one of loboc's assets as well.

Hi Jeroen, It's not surprising that a foreigner would come to Bohol and immediately fall in love with it. But to take the time and effort to create a very nice website for the island is quite unexpected and astonishing. I've been to Tagbilaran a lot of times on business but had never had the opportunity to discover the real Bohol until last last month. We stayed in a new resort, the Flushing Meadows in Dauis and went to Loboc and I've got some interesting pictures. Would it be ok if I send you the photos and you decide if they are worth posting on this site or not. regards, Bernard

Hi! I have been to Badiang Spring in Valencia countless times. It is really a nice resort with a very fresh, cold and inviting water overflowing the big pool. It also has a falls that you can shower on. It has 2 pools, one for small children and another for grown ups. you can also choose to swim in the beach which is very near the spring. I know because I was born in Valencia. Everytime we go home to Bohol, we will never miss to swim in Badiang Spring specially my daughter, Nicole... so come and visit Valencia and enjoy the cool waters of Badiang Spring...

To Lydia Robledo - Just been to Bohol two weeks ago for a reunion with my siblings in Guindulman. We had a tour of the western part of Bohol (Tagbilaran - Panglao - Tubigon Area). A new resort is being set up in Sagbayan Town called Sagbayan Peak. A butterfly dome is being constructed. Maybe the owners know where you can find different butterflies (Sorry, I was not able to get the names of the owners). You can reach Sagbayan through Tubigon and Clarin towns.

It's quite sad to think that I don't have the luxury of time to come to each and every tourist spots in Bohol, especially the waterfalls. What hurts me more is that I am from Bohol. It's very heartwarming to feel the excitement of my officemates talking about their planned vacation there. "Sobrang ganda talaga sa Bohol!" My reply, "'kaya nga no. 1, eh!" And I always advertise the waterfalls inasmuch as we have two awesome waterfalls in my own hometown, Balilihan.

Thank you for the information about the waterfalls that will help me in my butterfly watching trip. I opted for Palawan last April 9 but I am definitely coming to Bohol on May 3-6. There are many butterflies seeping minerals by the riverbeds, esp. hot springs. I go for easy treks only, no mountain climbing. I hope the vegetation around the rivers and falls have not been cleared. These are the butterfly habitats. San Isidro looks interesting. The less people congregating by the falls or rivers, the better chances of seeing butterflies. I will definitely share with you my butterfly discoveries. Hope there are lots. Maraming salamat po!

I will be visiting Bohol from 07-09 April. My main purpose is to do a butterfly habitat survey. Butterflies should be visible close to the rivers/falls. Which waterfall shown in the pictures will best serve my research work? Is there any 'homestay' arrangement I can avail of close to this place? I will appreciate all information relevant. Thank you. Lydia Robledo - Phil. Butterfly Gardening Society.

Antequera is about half an hour travel from Tagbilaran, where sufficient arrangements can be made; however, except by taxi it will be difficult to go there early in the morning. Since it is on quite short notice, and you have only limited time, best change if you go to Antequera and make enquiries locally. A number of falls are located in Antequera; Mag-Aso, shown in the pictures can easily be reached, as steps down to the lower part of the fall has been constructed. The surrounding forests will require some more climbing on very slippery lime soil. The area between Antequera and Tubigon, that is, mostly the muncipality of San Isidro is very hilly, with lots of creeks, waterfalls, caves, and forest cover, so may be a good region to explore. Kilab-kilab falls, also shown in the pictures, is much more far away inland, about 2 hours travel from Tagbilaran, and will require a local guide to reach. The place can only be reached when there has been no rain in the days preceeding your visit. You may also consider visiting the Raja Sikatuna National Park (although I don't know how many butterflies can be found there), which has its own lodging facilities, or for which the Chocolate Hills Complex can serve as a base. You'll need to arrange for habal-habal (motorbike taxi) drivers to bring you there. This sounds interesting, so if you can inform our readers of your project and its results, we will be much obliged. I've seen several marvellous butterflies and dragonflies in Bohol.--Jeroen.

The picture you took of kilab-kilab falls is beautiful. I wonder where I might find it? By the way, is it safe to bring a toddler (and for me?) - I mean, do snakes abound in these places?

There are some children who have been there, and swom. But it is quite deep. Snakes are everywhere, so you can expect some. But they are mostly not agressive unless you offend them. When we were there, we could not see one. Kilab-kilab is not yet a touristic place, so can really feel the nature.--Lyn

I've been to Bohol many times (my mom being a Boholana). The place is great. It has many beautiful and wonderful caves, beaches, churches, falls and most especially its nice, smiling people. I still had so many things to discover there. That's why, panata ko na pumunta dyan yearly.

Its good if you have pictures of all the listed water falls in Bohol. I think there are still more water falls in Bohol. To the people out there, why not come and visit our place?

Very nice! So nice... I'm actually fond of travels and I have travelled more than 60% of the Philippines (part of being single). My next target this summer is Bohol... anyway thanks for the pic.

It's very fantastic view but I haven't been there. My whole family been to Badiang spring in Valencia. All enjoyed well with the fascinating water falls on top of the swimming pool. It's a great time for me and my family during my six weeks vacation from England.

Has anyone heard anything about Badiang Springs in Valencia? Check it out, it's about 44 kilometers away from the city.

I like the three pictures that you post on hoping that if how nice is the picture thats also in reality. Kay usahay picture ra may nindot but in reality is very opposite. Thanks for reading...

Well, pictures say more than a thousand words, and we didn't have to carefully select our camera position to take them... The entire environment here is still nice. -- Jeroen.
