Bohol has a large number of top class diving sites. Concentrated mostly around Panglao and Cabilao Island, most of these can be reached by a short trip on a banca.

when i was a child i used to go on swimming in our most beautiful shore of song-on, loon , bohol. I have my "pana" to catch fish for our sud-an. Catch some sea cucmbers, sea urchins, sea weeds like lato and guso. The only thing that im so proud of our place is its fine white sand and long stretch. Now that im now in mindanao in cagayan de oro city. And almost 90% of area here in mindanao that i have gone through and i've never seen a place here in mindanao that can compared to our place. Ive gone to lanao, misamis occidental, zambo. provinces, zamboanga city, dipolog, ozamis, pagadian, davao, bukidnon, cotabato, basilan, jolo, sulu but I've never found a place like my beloved song-on, loon, bohol. I miss my place specially during fiestas and family reunions. |

My diving experience in Bohol was in Anda area. We stayed at Flower Beach Resort. They've got their own dive center - Abyss Divers. The place is very clean and nice. The host was very warm and hospitable. The pricing was more than fair, something like 60 Singapore dollars per person per night with breakfast and dinner. Their dive sites are so beautiful! I especially liked the Paradise Garden - there's a whole lot of life there! Made many pictures that we still show to our friends. And we saw a whale shark there - adrenaline pumping experience! We had lots of fun. |

Why are the diving spots in the town of Anda, Bohol not included in this article? |

Oh yeah! There are more to the list of dive sites around Bohol. Besides the east coast many still have to be discovered by dive tours. In 2002 while on a CRM project, I've tried to explore some of the dive sites in Tubigon particularly around the islands of Bilang-bilangan and Inanuran. The corals were slowly going back to life after years of illegal fishing methods used by the local folks. The coast of Bien Unido going to Danajon reef (Hingutanan side) and Carlos P. Garcia island is yet to be on the diving map. |

Hi Jeroen, unfortunately is the whole area in the southeast (Guindulman and Anda) not in the divesites map and listing. Maybe this could be corrected??? Best regards Werner from FloWer-Beach Resort, Anda, Bohol |

My first Diving experience in the Philippines took place on Cabilao. We stayed at La Estrella Beach Resort and enjoyed diving with Cabilao Dive center. (two weeks accom. 1/2 board was around 30,000php. I don't remember what we paid for the diving. Nina, Birga and Tobias were great, as were the Local DM's Roy, Jhun Jhun, and Bobet. The dive sites around Cabilao are great for Macro Photography if you know what your doing....I did not, however I did get some photos I will cherish forever and the Memories will never be lost. Don't be disappointed if you do not see the Hammerheads. They just aren't there anymore. There was a shark sighting but not by me. Instead, look for the smaller creatures such as the pygmy seahorse, stonefish, lionfish, turkeyfish, scorpionfish, frogfish, various nudibranchs and others. |

My wife and myself were in Balicasag for the first time, although I was born in Bohol, two weeks ago. Balicasag's diving and snorkelling is world class nothing compares to it. You are like diving and snorkelling in a giant aquarium. Bebot, the Manager for the Balicasag Dive resort, and Aldo, the dive Master were magnificent host of the resort. When we were at the resort they were in the process of building a salt water pool and renovating the restaurant. On our first night we were the only customer of the resort, we have the resort to ourselves. Accomadation at the resort is also world class. The staff including the security guard are wonderfull and down to earth hospitable. Balicasag is one diving spot I will have to comeback everytime I will visit my hometown. |

Napaling is the best place to go. Its a nice place for diving. You can easily get there by bus from Tagbilaran city. I have gone to Balicasag island but I can compare one is better. So try to go there and you'll never regret. I missed the place and I really want to come back. |

Hi, I have dived Balicasag Island and the diving was really great. Big fishes, and great deep drop- offs , especially the Sanctuary. I was really overwealmed by the wall and depth. Great Resort at BIR resort.Good DM . Look for Aldo, although their Diveboat was so small for us.Without a ladder. We almost have to don our tanks in the water. But nevertheless still , it can be compensated by the diving. |

I'm now living in Canada and I've been to practically all of these dive sites not only once but so many times. When in alona beach, i suggest you try to dive with atlantis dive center. the german guys over there were really great buddies led by kurt. of course, other pinoy dive masters like roger will make you feel safe and comfortable in every dive you make. My most favorite dive site in bohol in the order of spectacular-ity are Hammerhead Pt in Cabilao, Black Forest in Balicasag and Snake Island which is not on the map near Pamilacan Island (check this out, for sure excitement and adrenalin rushes the moment you enter the water because of strong current and close encounters with sea snakes)! |

I stayed for one whole weekend at Balicasag island, and everything here is true, and even more. I am no diver, much less a swimmer, but to be surrounded by so much beauty and marine life, I could not pass up on the opportunity to go under! It's beautiful there, underwater, or over the water. The place is teeming with marine life, and one could watch clown fish swimming around sea anemone, just by dipping one's head in the water. It's amazing, and true enough, I was able to go around the island, not once, but twice! in less than an hour each time, and the haunting old lighthouse is also quite an attraction. |
