Pwede kayo mag zip line at cable car dun. P350 yung zip line tapos pwede kayo kunan ng pics habang nasa zip line kayo. Price ng pics w/cd and 1 printed copy of your chosen photo is P250. There are approximately 50+ shots sa isang cd. I am taking the ferry to Tubigon from Cebu. I need to go to Carmen/Chocolate Hills. I know there are Aircon V-hires in Tubigon to Tagbilaran. However, I need an aircon V-hire to Carmen. Is there a regular aircon V-hire schedule from Tubigon to Carmen and then Carmen to Tagbilaran? What are the times? Thanks, Ferdy

Saan pede maka rent ng van for 14-16 ka tao, self drive since may own driver kami then kahit saamin na din ang gasolina good for two days, then sa tubigon ang route namin? gusto kasi namin kami lang ang bahala sa pupuntahan namin since may taga bohol din kaming kasama, may taga turo kung saan ang hindi common na pinupuntahan tulad ng mga offer sa package tour? Yung rent na kung baga rentahan namin ang van tapos we can go na anywhere in bohol na gusto namin puntahan. kung may nag ooffer ng ganyan pm me nalang sa aking gmail ev.neil.pelino4288@gmail.com

Hi Neil, you can rent a van for 16 persons in Bohol but I think normally that includes a driver. Some cars you can rent without driver. There are some companies that offers this service, like Ramyer travel and tours and myboholrentacar. We rented a van with driver back in 2011 from Ramyer Travel and Tours and we had a good family tour and the driver was nice. --Rodelyn

BE VERY EXTRA CAREFUL sa mga van rental na HINDI Tourism-Approved. baka maabala lang kayo sa tour nyo. pag Tourism-approved yung van na nirerentahan nyo, yung plaka nyan is multi-colored (they also call it rainbow plate). nag tour po kasi kami nung monday sa bohol, hindi namin alam na di pala tourism-approved yung van namin.na checkpoint kami malapit sa Tagbilaran at worst part is nahinto kami ng matagal. so i would advice everyone to rent from a reliable company. not just from some person posting their "personal" ads here.

@Kris Hi Kris, Kagagaling lang namin from Bohol last weekend. First time din naming pumunta sa bohol with my family. Super enjoy. Dito lang namin nakita ang myboholrentacar.com. Mag inquire ka lang muna sa kanila. Ok tong myboholrentacar kasi detailed yung information na binibigay nila, may kasaling map pa to show yung route nang tour nyo. At eto pa, may pakulo pa silang free gift (bohol delicacies). Akala namin joke lang yun, basta mag book ka lang sa may free gift from their site. Parang sila lang ata ang nag offer ng ganun based on my research. Nag via Tubigon kami kasi super mura pala ng pamasahe compared sa Tagbilaran at 1hour lang ang byahe from Cebu, since 5 kami, 1000 lang nabayaran namin. From pier 1 sa Cebu, mag StarCraft ka, kunin mo yung 5:45am, ang dating is around 6:45am sa Tubigon. Pag di kayo makahabol, may 7am din. Dapat maaga kasi pag late kana, di mo mapuntahan lahat kasi yung last destination is Hinagdanan Cave. mga 5:30pm yung closing nun. Paste ko lang yung destinations namin: 1 - Sagbayan Peak (Sagbayan) 2 - Chocolate Hills (Carmen) 3 - Man-made Forest (Bilar) 4 - Simply Butterflies Conservation Center (Bilar) 5 - Hanging Bridge (Loboc) 6 - Tarsier Sanctuary (Loboc) 7 - Loboc River Floating Restaurant (Loboc) 8 - Python Snake (Albur) 9 - Baclayon Church and Museum (Baclayon) 10 - Aproniana Souvenir Shop (Baclayon) 11 - Blood Compact Site (Bool) 12 - Island City Mall for some shopping 13 - Hinagdanan Cave (Dauis) 14 - Dumaluan Beach Resort You may check Dumaluan for your resort. Pwede kayong mag dolphin watching kinabukasan. Inquire ka lang sa resort. I hope this information would be of great help for you:)

We Love Bohol (Bohol trip Day 1) Last March 2011, Cebu Pacific came out with a 500 peso airfare, round trip Manila-Cebu. Me and my friends who love cheap travel didn't think twice, we booked 12 people (us and our families) bound for Cebu. Since only one of us has been to Bohol, we all decided to go there. We, the el cheap-o viajeras searched for a good package tour that's budget-friendly and God lead us to mitch (and yeah, mitch!). It's the kids first time to ride the a plane and a ferry boat. The supercat ride was horrible. We were seated at an air condition deprived corner of the ferry. Nate was bathing in sweat while me and Dan took turns in fanning him. I demanded the ferry manager to transfer us and he gave us two separated seats. I was fine with that as long as we can feel the a/c and Nate's comfortable. When we got to Bohol pier, we were welcomed by our nice van driver Kuya toper and we started the tour right away. First stop: Dauis Church Complex and Hinagdanan CaveBeautiful old church. There's a Cafe Dawis inside that has very nice interior design. Inside the cafe they sell native fans and bags and there's also an exhibit of artworks. At the back of the church they made an open air events venue right beside the beach. It would be a very nice wedding reception venue. Hinagdanan cave--according to what I've eavesdropped from a tour guide of a foreigners group--was discovered sometime in the 16th century and it's where the Japs hid when the Americans came to the Philippines. I still have to google that information. The cave's worth checking out. Next stop: Bohol Bee Farm This is one of Bohol's loveliest place. It resembles Sonia's garden, it's a garden-restaurant with beautiful accommodation rooms. They have two dining areas, one has a nice pool in the center and one is overlooking the beach. They have a merchandise shop where they sell native bags, honey, bottled herbed butter and cheese and Bohol delicacies. They have an Ice cream shop which they call the Buzz Ice cream where they sell uniquely flavored ice cream, flavors like durian, malunggay, spicy ginger and some of the most common/well-known flavors. Mitzie & Ninang Juliet tried the spicy ginger and they loved it. My mom tried the durian. She said it's good :) My only disappointment is that they're cone is fried. After Bohol Bee Farm we were brought our accommodation, resort. It's at the Panglao Island. This we are very happy about it. Thanks mitch.

Pwede kayo mag zip line at cable car dun. P350 yung zip line tapos pwede kayo kunan ng pics habang nasa zip line kayo. Price ng pics w/cd and 1 printed copy of your chosen photo is P250. There are approximately 50+ shots sa isang cd. From Cebu, the most convenient and cheapest route to Bohol is via Tubigon. Ferries to Tubigon cost only Php 150 - 200 (2 hours for normal ferry, 45 minutes for fast craft) while ferries to Tagbilaran could go as high as Php 600-800 for 2-hour fast craft and 4 hours for normal ferry.

Before travelling, you can easily book a car or van online @ www.MyBoholRentACar.com.

From Tubigon, you can conveniently go to Sagbayan Peak, Danao Adventure, Carmen Chocolate Hills, Bilar Man-Made Forest, lunch at Loboc River, Baclayon Church, Tagbilaran Blood Compact and Panglao Beach. With this route, you don't see the same place twice.

If you will have to travel via Tagbilaran, your route will be Blood Compact Site, Baclayon Church to Chocolate Hills and back again to where you came from.

The most popular activity to do in Bohol island is island tour. I want to recommend good rent a car in Tagbilaran town (recommended also by lonely planet :). I arrived to Tagbilaran by speed boat from Cebu in the evening and the only one travel agency or rent a car I could find at 8 pm in the town was bohol speed rent a car and tours. They have good prices, I have paid for car 1 800 Php (40 USD) including driver and petrol, actually they charge this money for 8 hours and if you will use it more then 8 hours you have pay little bit extra, but 8 hours more then enough to see all sight in Bohol. The car was new (2-3 years old, which is considered new for Philippines), very clean with English speaking driver who knew all the sites, and he arrived to my hotel earlier then expected time (you will understand the time issue then you will arrive to Philippines haha). I can highly recommend them. call or text 09065077848

Is it going to be much affordable if we will not have the countryside package, but instead we'll have the tour on our own? Can you recommend an affordable resort where we can stay for 2 nights. We are planning to visit Bohol this July 2009. How much is the entrance fees for Bohol spots like Blood Compact Site, Clarin Ancestral House, Tarsier Encounter, Chocolate Hills and Man Made Forest. Please recommend an affordable resort where we can stay for our honeymoon. Thanks

As always, what is affordable depends on your budget, and I cannot look into your wallet. Some people can afford to rent a big private villa, and if you can afford that, it would be great for a honeymoon. Near Alona Beach, good value for money, in my opinion, you have at Flower Garden Resort (PHP 2000/night), or Sunappartelle (USD 4000/night, prices are just rough indications). If you prefer to stay at the beach Bohol Divers is also good, as are several others. Most of the sites mentioned have no or very modest entry fees (sometimes just a plea for a donation). Main cost will be transportation. (PHP 2500-3500 for a full day rental of car or mini-van with driver.) You can try to use jeepneys and busses, but it will take you a long time, which means you cannot reach all attractions in one day.--Jeroen.

Bohol is also blessed with a Bio diverse sea waters in the islands of Balicasag you can go diving and see the different colors and beauty of the corals and fishes which you can only see in pictures now, it will come into reality! And not just that! While on the way to the island you’ll see the spectacular dolphins jumping and joyfully joining you in your way to the island. This is on the third day in your trip.

Now, these are the next visits which include the second day tour in Bohol. * Mag-aso Falls visit- found in Antequera, these falls is called such from the word “a-so” smoking or umu- usok. Because the fall of the water is like smoking per se and the water itself is clear and very enticing, so better bring with swimming gears because one thing is for sure! You’d really be lured by the water  * Punta Cruz Watch Tower visit- it is found in Maribojoc and surrounding it is coastline where you can also splash and enjoy the clean and enticing sea water. * Sagbayan Peek visit- have you experienced a pinch of Hollywood here in the Philippines with life size statues, huge dinosaur figure and etc… and at the same time seeing the beautiful chocolate hills in another view? Not just that you can also play with the butterflies in their mini sanctuary, and at night or at the late afternoon, you can visibly see the island of Cebu and Negros. Isn’t that one kind of a place you should visit? * Maribojoc and Loon Church visit- another old stone churches. Ever wonder why there are a lot of churches here in Bohol and most of it is Old? It is because Bol-anons are pious and are so much dedicated to the Blessed Mother. There are times in the past were typhoons are directed to Bohol yet thru prayer and Strong faith the typhoons suddenly change their direction while it’s already in the borders of Bohol.

I thank God for an overwhelming response to the first post, especially to the Webmaster of this site, thank YOU! To the first time visitors of Bohol, we actually offer 3 days package for the different spots in the province. The first post that I wrote was for the first day. *Dauis Church visit – this visit is optional since it is not part of the tour, but for Catholics and believers, we would like to share to you that inside the main altar of the our Lady of the Assumption Cathedral, directly on our Blessed Mother’s Gaze is a well with healing water, the water has never gone dry and it is 101% potable and doesn’t even have a brackish taste or salty taste even if its just meters away from the surrounding seas of Dauis. The water is free just bring with you empty plastic bottle. *Panglao Island visit- it is where you can see kilometre stretch of white sand beach, clear coast and beautiful surroundings. *Hinagdanan Cave visit- it is a beautiful cave that has fresh water inside it where you can take a good bath found in Dauis. These places are located in Panglao Island. The island only has two towns namely: Dauis and Panglao herself. These visits may be included on the first day yet there’s a small additional charge for the van since it is a different route from the Choco Tour.

Hello, I am John-Philip Enriquez Calulo- tour driver of the 10th largest archipelago in the Philippines –Bohol. Good day to everyone and to the visitor of this informative site, here is the itinerary for the Choco tour: • Blood Compact “Sandugo” Shrine visit- it is the first friendship treaty between the Filipinos and the Spaniards during the year 1565 wherein Rajah Sikatuna and Miguel Lopez de Legaspi made a cut in their wrist and drank the blood that was mixed between the two leaders (well, of course it was during those times were HIV was not a problem ;P ). • Baclayon Church visit- the OLDEST stone church in the Philippines • Python visit- have u ever seen a python that is almost as big as an electric post? Well, now you will! It is the biggest and largest in captivity and can be found in Abuquerque • Loboc’s River Cruising- hmm eating an eat all you can buffet and at the same time cruising the beautiful river of Loboc seeing the serene beauty of the forest on both riverbanks approaching the Busai falls? And upon arriving, you will be serenaded by children. Isn’t that enticing? • Tarsier visit- the Wold’s smallest primate • Hanging Bridge visit- found in Sevilla town • Man Made Forest visit- during the early 1940’s the town of Bilar is prone of landslides since the quality if its soil isn’t that hard enough to sustain itself. So what the local government did, they ask the people to cooperate in planting tress and most of these trees are hardwood mahogany. And with the cooperation of the different sectors, students, teachers, even the military they were able to plant a kilometre stretch man made forest. Even if its 12noon sharp, you won’t feel any heat from the sun, never the less all you can smell and appreciate the most is the freshness of the air and the beauty of the environment. • The CHOCOLATE HILLS visit- what makes these hills amazing is that it’s on its perfect cone and during summer it turns into chocolate brown, it is because the soil content of the hills are not that much because it’s made of corals since Bohol millions of years ago was submerged under sea waters For more information please do contact us in these numbers 09167471474 (globe) and our landline #’s (038) 411-5755 (PLDT), 501-8745 (Globelines) my e-mail add john-philip@lycos.com. Me and my family went there for almost a week..it was a great experience to have spent time with my family in the beach, and going around the island.. I made all my reservations in a travel agency..i got so lucky to have it with the agency because my nephew left his ipod in the van who took us on our chocolate hills tour..it was very good of that agency to have helped us find it and even send it to us via lbc..that is why i suggested to my friends to contact an agent in planning trips anywhere...i got one friend who thought he knew Bohol that much so he didn't contact an agency..they got unlucky because they left also somehting, I forgot what it was and they could not trace it..di na kasi nila makontak ang driver na nagtour sa kanila(they met him at the airport)... thnks ng marami kay Ms Che for all the help and to kuya Manuel na ng tour samin..keep it up kuya! kaya, for those who wanna visit Bohol, try you itxt c ms Che at 09216303334 or email nyo xa at travel_treats@yahoo.com... go Bohol!!! nice place, and nice people!

I brought my fiance to Bohol to visit this nice province. True to the testimonies of others who went there, Bohol is indeed "God's Little Paradise!" We stayed in Bohol Beach Club for 3 days and stayed in Bohol Tropics in the city for a couple of days. We really enjoyed our vacation there and the tour to the beautiful tourist spots; we visited 10 places of interests -- chocolate hills, tarsier habitat, hinagdanan cave, bee farm, hanging bridge, loboc river, man-made forest, etc. We'd like to thank the following tour service operators: Rod (0918 5914969 -- sedan P1,800 with personalized history recap), jolly Joel (09106697852 -- van P2,500 if more than 4 persons), Dennis (092 83223798 taxi service) Our first trip to Bohol together was wonderfully unforgettable! I would have to recomend going to Hinagdonan Cave, BBC, Alona Kew and a few other beaches in the area. On the back side of the Island are a few nice beaches. Sagbyan Peak has a beautiful view of the hills, sea and other islands. For night life and a nice Resort you can visit Bohol Tropics Resort and attend the night time disco. As for transportation if you are on a tight budget the easiest and most conveniant mode would be regualar fairy service that costs around 500 per person and goes straight into Tagbilaran from Pier 1 in Cebu.

We would like to travel from Manila to Boracay and then to Bohol. Is there a flight running from Boracay to Bohol or Cebu? Or a fast ferry service? or do you have to go back to Manila to get a flight to Bohol?

To get from Boracay to Bohol, take an outrigger boat to Caticlan, and from there the bus to Kalibo. You can fly with Cebu Pacific from Kalibo to Cebu. From Cebu, you can take a boat going to either Tagbilaran or Tubigon. Second option: You may be able to fly from Caticlan, which has a small air strip, directly to Cebu. Third option: Take a bus to Iloilo city, and take a boat or plane to Cebu from there.--Lyn

For JR (Monday, 03 October 2005 14:19:12 PHT) Depends on your budget you have choices of inns and hotels to stay at different rates and different accomodations in Bohol (Tagbialran or Panglao). The more you pay, the better the accomodations. Most of the places in Bohol can be reach by bus, cheaper but it will take longer (it will take more of your precious time) because there are several town stops and passenger up/down the bus any time. For time saver, try talking to a taxi, passenger van or jeepney driver if you can hire them for the whole day or whole week at a FIX RATE (its called PAKYAW in Bohol), if you do this arrangement, arrange with the driver for down payment and the rest of balance be paid at the end of trip for your safety..If you visit Chocolate Hills Carmen Bohol, you might as well stop by to see the Tarsiers in Bilar, do river cruising in Loboc because you will pass them on your way back to Tagbilaran from Carmen Chololate Hills. If your hotel/inn is in TagbilaranCity, you can go to Panglao in the morning and back to Tagbilaran in the afternoon, its only 30-40 minutes ride. But if you can get an accomodation in Panglao, so much better because you will have the chance to walk in the beach when the sun and the moon comes out! In Alona Beach, there are some parties along the beach at night sometimes like sing-along and/or mini-concerts. But if you stay in Tagbialaran hotel/inn, you might not be walking distance to the beach but you have access to lots of local shops, restaurants, ATMs, etc.

I was just in Bohol last week visiting relatives. I had to take the Cebu-Tubigon ferry a few times for various purposes. Ocean Jet is not in service until around September due to some remodeling. So instead of a 50-minute boat ride, each one-way trip took at least 2 hours. Otherwise, Bohol is indeed a paradise. I'm proud to have been born there.

Where's the best place to stay in terms of safety, hospitality, and best price? What places are a must-see? Thank u very much.

No need for an agent. From Bacolod, take a bus to San Carlos (Ceres liner, every 15 minutes, about 3.5 hours coastal route, 2 hours mountain route), then cross over to Cebu (Toledo) by fastcraft, take the bus to Cebu City (about 2 hours), and then a boat to Tubigon (about 1 hour); from there, continue by bus to Tagbilaran (about 1.5 hour), from there, explore! This website highlights many spots worth seeing and places worth staying.--Jeroen

Good day. I'm looking for some resorts near Tubigon, Bilar and Jagna because were having some seminars in those places. hope you can help me with that. thanks.

There is a resort in Tubigon, and I know a private house for rent in Jagna. Can't give you an answer for Bilar. My advise would be to contact the mayor (via your contacts) of those places, and ask him whether he can arrange something.--Jeroen.

ILIGAN TO BOHOL =there's a superferry boat that departs every wednesday starting march 30 at 11:45 pm from Iligan and arrives in Tagbilaran 9 am Thursday. that same boat will then depart tagbilaran at 5:15am and arrives in iligan at 5 pm =the best that you can do is take a 1 hr bus ride to cagayan de oro and then take wga boat that departs every 12 noon saturdays and sundays arrives at jagna, bohol at 6 pm

I've been to BOHOL so many times and i loved to live there because life there is so simple. The prices of food esp. fruits, fishes and vegetables are very reasonable. Not to mention there white sand beaches and the whale watching in Pamilacan Island and the man-made forest---oh! so devastating. Also the LOGARITA Pool in Bilar that has cool fresh waters. I am a Boholano too! How about transportation info. from Tagbilaran, Tubigon, Buenavista and Inabanga ? How about housing or lodging in those small towns ? How about bathrooms or powder rooms along the roadside just in case of emergencies? It will be nice if you include them also. What about the security of the tourists? Will they be safe? Thank you so much . I hope you can fill me in.--Pidi.

A curious thing about bus companies in Bohol is that there are so many: almost every line is operated by another company that only has one or two buses. As a result, it is very difficult to obtain a full schedule of all lines. You'll probably have to go to the Dao busstation, and ask around, being aware that sometimes bus-runners will say anything to get you into their bus.

Accomodation in the inland of Bohol is scarce. There are only a few hotels, or even simple lodging houses once you leave Tagbilaran or the tourist frequented areas. Your only options are to stay with locals, or to return to your base for the night.

I've often stayed in inland Bohol with my in-laws, but never felt unsafe in anyway. Although there is some NPA activity in the inland, which in turn can provoke a government response, the NPA has never bothered tourists, and will not manifest itself in the tourist frequented areas (if only for their own safety) See my article about safety for details--Jeroen.

to lloyd hugges. when you arrive cebu by plane from LA car for hires abound of no more than P500 that will take you to the pier. i suggest you take the oceanjet fastcraft to bohol as they have a viewing deck good for island and whale watching and you can smell the ocean's aroma and the breeze (gosh - wonderful). it'll only be a 1hr 45min ride that will cost around P430. I'm sure you'll love the experience. if you need assistance in your trips lots of travel agencies abound. one agent worth mentioning is innvent tours and travel, the service is a1 to the detail, at least that's what me and my family experienced when we went there last month. you may email them at innvent_tour1@yahoo.com and oh dont forget the lunch on cruise at loboc river it's gonna be very romantically close to nature.

We are visiting the Philipines from 3 till 24 July and are first going to visit my uncle in Tuguegarao (Cagayan, Luzon) and do some siteseeing there. For the last week we are planning to vistit Bohol. Thanks

I would advise to take a flight from Manila to Cebu or Tagbilaran--the ferry from Manila takes to much of your time, given your short schedule--and select one of the resorts on Panglao as a base, and from there explore the island.--Jeroen.

How much is the supercat to Tagbilaran from Cebu and how many hours? Is it safe to take kids on the ship? Do you serve food/drinks? From Tagbiliran how do we go to Alona beach and what's the best hotel/resort to stay.

I don't know the current rates for the supercat, but expect them to be some 300-400 pesos. The ship is save for kids, as you stay inside during the entire trip. You can buy drinks and snacks on-board. On the pier, you will find plenty of people eager to bring you to Alona Beach. A tricycle or taxi should be about 100 or 150 pesos respectively. I can't say what is the best hotel to stay, as that depends on your own preferences and budget.--Jeroen

Could you tell me how much it would cost via bus from Bohol to Manila.

Hmmmm,... since Bohol is an island, there will always be the need to use a ferry somewhere on the route. To maximize the use of busses, you could go to Ubay, in the North and then take a boat to Leyte. In Leyte you can catch a bus to Samar, from where a bus will go all the way to Manila. This bus will actually board the ferry from Samar to Luzon. I think there are more convenient and economical ways of going to Manila though.--Jeroen.

There are no direct flights, but you can fly (15 minutes) (or take fast boat, 45 minutes) to Cebu, and catch a flight to Caticlan from there. If the flights to Caticlan are full (it is a very small plane), fly to Kalibo (25 minuntes), and take a two hour bus ride (or faster VHire) to Caticlan, from there an outrigger boat can bring you to Boracay. The alternative, using a boat from Cebu to Iloilo (overnight) and then a bus (6 hours) to Caticlan is very slow.--Jeroen

Please include "Camp Verde" in Bangwalog, Duero as one of historical or even tourist attractions in Bohol.

Please tell us something more, or even send us some snaps, and we will be happy to add it.--Jeroen.

Please give me the details of air/sea fares.

The actual fares change very often, and can actually vary from day to day, depending on various promo actions and the agent you use to buy tickets. This means it is near impossible for us to keep track of these details. We have provided links to the various airline and shipping companies, which you can contact for details. When you buy air-line tickets, our advice is to enquire with a few agencies and compare prices. Ferry tickets we've always bought at the terminal at whatever the going price a current promo actions where.--Jeroen.

Please! Can you tell me how much does it cost from Manila to Tagbilaran by AIR? Thanks.

Sorry, but I don't have the current rates available. Somebody who could help? A couple of years ago I paid PHP 735 by boat from Manila (25 hours), and PHP 1401 from Cebu to Manila by air. I think both rates must have cone up considerably.--Jeroen.

What best month to visit Bohol?

Bohol has no pronounced rainy season, although most rain can be expected in August and September... The hottest months and least rain are from March till May, at which time the Chocolate Hills will get their characteristic brown color. I prefer to be in Bohol in December and January, but that is because I like to escape winter in Holland. -- Jeroen.

Where's the Ferry schedule to Tubigon, Bohol?

Painted on signs near the pier in Tubigon and Cebu :-) But without joking, it is quite difficult for us to obtain schedules of the various ferries to Tubigon, Talibon, Ubay, and Jagna, as the ferry companies operating ships to and from those places don't publish their schedules very regularly, and even if they do, they sometimes cancel trips, or delay them without any notice. Just enquire at ticketing offices or hotels in Cebu. Still, we will try to give indicative schedules for this website soon. --- Jeroen.
